Here's a movie of audio modulation with the PLL and a 50V DC supply. (current draw was about 4A.) I draw an arc to ground to prove that the sound really is coming from the discharge and I didn't just dub it on later ;)
Here are some pics of the coil running with a toroid in place. It doubles the spark length :) and makes them much fiercer and hotter.
